Course Description:
Creating a strong sense of light comes from seeing, understanding, and rendering correct value and color relationships. Without this, it is not possible to get the light to "read" in a painting.
The first day of the workshop we will do a color mixing demo and lecture, and then practice getting precise paint mixtures. After that, we will immediately put that into practice by doing a series of small paintings over the remainder of the workshop that will lock in the learning. We will do one or two "paint-alongs" from my reference photos, then students are invited to do some small paintings from their own references while receiving individualized coaching at their easels.
