Yvonne Morrish Yvonne is a lifetime resident of the Okanagan Valley. She has resided in Kelowna since 1973 and her interest in the Visual Arts began at school when sketching and drawing were always interfering with the learning process. It was in her later years that the urge to paint and draw again became a reality after a drawing course at Okanagan College. Yvonne has been instrumental in forming The Painters Studio in 1992, and the local Chapter of the FCA in 1997. She wrote an art column in the Valley weekly newspaper for several years and is very active in the Community Arts scene, donating paintings to charities, and serving on Committees. Her favourite medium is watercolour and she also paints in acrylics, mixed media and at this time is very happy doing experimental art. She has won numerous awards and been selected for juried shows in Canada and USA. |
She is a lifetime member of the CSPWC ( Canadian Society of Painters in Watercolour) and has a painting in the Permanent Collection of Canada in Brampton Ontario. She also was named finalist in the 1999 “Artists Magazine” annual competition and was one of five Canadians chosen from 13,300 entries. Her works can be viewed at her studio at 402-1260 Raymer Ave in Kelowna BC.
