"Crystal Cove" by Rod McAuley

Rod McAuley

Rod McAuley was born in Saskatchewan, Canada and has been living in Kelowna, B.C. since 1991. He is a self-taught oil painter who has experimented with many styles and techniques. One of his favorite subjects is the sea. He studied the teachings of master seascape artist E. John Robinson, Byron Pickering and Donald Demers. He was also fortunate enough to live in the same city as renowned seascape artist Jon Einerrsen who graciously critiqued his work with constructive recommendations. He also turned to books and studied color theory, color harmony, perspective and technique.
Another interest Rod has (read obsession) is golf. Having seen and studied the golf course paintings of famous artists like Linda Hartough and Larry Dyke he became inspired to paint golf courses. This remains one of his favorite subjects.
Rod is currently an active member of the Federation of Canadian Artists.
