Norma Thomas Often the heart composes for many years before the hands enter into the creative process. As a native British Columbian who has lived in Vancouver and the Okanagan Valley, Norma draws inspiration from the natural beauty of the land. Landscape, floral and still life studies are the main inspirations for her work, much of it done en plein air in the Kelowna area. Norma works mainly in acrylic and oil paints, and continues to explore these mediums through workshops and independent study. Robert Genn, Neil Patterson, and Mike Svob are just a few of the artists who have influenced her work. Norma has been an Active Member of the Federation of Canadian Artists, Central Okanagan Chapter for over ten years supporting their activities and exhibitions whenever possible. |
“Painting has now become an integral part of my life, something I cannot live without. It inspires, it soothes and it challenges. The experience of creating Art has introduced me to an expanded vision of the world and, each day, I can’t wait to continue my journey.”
