In 1999, Linda was the first Alberta artist to receive the prestigious award of a “Fine Art Certificate in Drawing and Painting” from the University of Alberta, for demonstrating a determined and earnest attitude toward the pursuit of excellence in the disciplines of painting and drawing over a twenty-five year study of art.

Linda states that when painting on location, en plein air, she seeks to capture the essence of the day, with the objective being for the viewer to feel the mood and motion of the land as she experienced it while she was out and at one with nature. Linda focuses her creative energies on canvas, whether it be out in the garden, back in the forest or high on a mountain.
