JOAN BOLEN is an ardent supporter of the arts, language and culture. Having sketched all her life, Joan first explored figure drawing before studying watercolour with Elaine Muth, acrylics with Frank Haddock and oils with Pro’s Art School. She works now exclusively in oil. The human body is Joan’s favourite landscape. The endless variation of gesture is a constant inspiration. Thus, the figure is represented in many of Joan’s works. Joan is a member of Painters' Studio, Livessence and the Federation of Canadian Artists.
