Glen Heming

Westbank artist Glen Heming started painting in early 2002 after attending a Mark Hobson watercolour-painting course in Tofino, BC with his brothers Bruce and George.  In 2003 he attended a course in watercolour painting presented by Tom Lynch in Spokane. In 2004 he took a course from Graham Flatt from Lloydminster, SK. He painted for four years with the Strathmore Art Society under Debra Ward. He also painted with the Bow West group under Joan Fedoroshyn in Calgary. In 2013 and 2014 he attended painting sessions presented by Alex Fong in Summerland. In July 2016 he was accepted into the Federation of Canadian Artists as an active member.

Until his retirement in 2010, Glen worked in the petroleum industry for the 42 years as a Professional Engineer and held various positions with major oil companies, small independent oil companies and government agencies.  Glen has four children and 7 grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Glen and his wife Linda moved to Sonoma Pines in Westbank in 2013. Wildlife and the west coast of BC has always held a special interest for Glen and this can be seen in his paintings. He focuses primarily on watercolor paintings but has recently started to explore the use of acrylics.
