"Vasseaux Lake" by Elizabeth Christie

Elizabeth Christie

Elizabeth Christie was born in Rossland, BC and lived in Toronto for many years before making the move back to BC to reside in Kelowna in 2006. From a 35-year career of international travel she has been influenced by the arts and culture of many different countries.  While she 'left the brush' in university, she never lost her appreciation for  nature's and mankind's creative beauty and excitement.  Now that she has the time, she has again picked up the brush and is expressing herself in a variety of styles, including abstract, impressionistic, and mixed media. Painting mostly in acrylic, Elizabeth also paints in encaustic, watercolour, oils and pastels.

Elizabeth graduated in design and illustration, and has augmented her natural artistic talents with selected local and national artist workshops, and through much experimentation. Her works have been exhibited throughout the Okanagan and she has her paintings in many private collections across Canada. Elizabeth takes inspiration from her photographs, and vivid recollections of scenes from throughout the beautiful province of BC. She expresses these in, vibrant, and creative paintings. Her goal is to have those who have the opportunity to see her work, feel the emotion and excitement she feels with each painting she creates.
