Dianne Carson has lived in Kamloops for the past 30 years and has only been painting since May 2016 when she retired and finally had some time. With no revious drawing or painting experience, she jumped right into drawing lessons from Suzy Knox thru Kamloops Parks and Rec and then taking acrylic painting lessons with Khara Gossage at Michaels. She then foraged straight into learning to paint with oils. She has painted in weekly studio classes with local artists Yvonne Reddick and with Debbie Lively as well as taking the odd workshop with both.
During the pandemic she has been applying all her knowledge to painting at home. She has also dabbled in water-colour with Kelowna artist Alex Fong and Acrylic painting workshop with Guy Morrow in Texas and with Oil Pastels at Galeria Monteon in Puerto Vallarta and most recently with Gene Prokop out of Edmonton in Kelowna on a monthly basis and a workshop with Valerie Rogers in Salmon Arm. Dianne is enjoying the exciting craft of painting immensely. She also has paintings hanging at Brynn’s Bakery in Kamloops. Dianne achieved her Active Status with the FCA in August 2023.
