Her education consists of four years at the University of Alberta Extension and four years at a private art education school in Edmonton. She has taken many workshops and classes with notable Canadian and American artists throughout the years.
Cecile has been affiliated with various arts groups for many years, the last being “The Society of Western Canadian Artists” in Edmonton where she had attained Associate member (ASWCA) status. She was also a docent for the Edmonton Art Gallery for many years and on the Board of Directors for Festival Place Cultural Foundation for eight years.
She taught art classes for many years at the Muttart Conservatory in Edmonton, and in local galleries in Edmonton and Sherwood Park. She also taught for 15 years in her own private loft studio in Sherwood Park.
Her works have been exhibited throughout Western Canada and Quebec. While living in Alberta, she was being represented by three local galleries.
Cecile’s works are represented in many corporate collections throughout Canada. She was also fortunate in having one of her works chosen by Mentor Communication for the book “24 Heroic Journeys – Pathways of Ordinary People to Extraordnary Achievements “by author Dr. Shall Sinha.
Cecile works mainly in watercolour, pastels and fluid acrylic, with florals, portraits and still life as her main subjects. She has done numerous commissions in various forms of medium and subject matter.
Cecile finds uniqueness in every individual person she meets and in every flower she sees. She likes to simplify shapes and concentrate the abstract design necessary to the foundation in a piece of artwork, She considers rhythm and flow of pattern to be qualities that guide the eye through her work.
Cecile now works out of her West Kelowna studio.
