Society of Canadian Visual Arts
The Society of Canadian Visual Arts, a non-profit, Kelowna based art group and an affiliate of the Federation of Canadian Artists-Central Okanagan Chapter, was incorporated in 1999 under the Society Act and it was created with the following purposes:
- To unite artists and persons interested in art for fellowship and mutual support in promoting the creative importance of art in the national and community life of Canada.
- To promote an improvement in the welfare, recognition and professional standing of practicing artists in the community.
- To promote activities which will tend to increase the appreciation, enjoyment and use of art and works of art by Canadians.
- To improve the growth of emerging and established artists through educational activities and programs.
