Membership Info
Member benefits include opportunities to participate in:
- Regional and international art competitions
- Workshops
- Monthly meetings including talks and demonstrations by guest artists
- Drawing and painting as a group
- Promoting your artwork through our website and in art shows
Membership Levels
Joining is in two parts. In order to join the chapter it is also necessary to join the FCA in Vancouver. The cost of an FCA membership is $70 per year. This includes bi-monthly copies of the FCA magazine “Art Avenue” and the ability to enter juried shows through the Federation Gallery in Vancouver. There are three membership levels available in the Central Okanagan Chapter (fees are annual):
Supporting Membership - $10
This includes being able to attend monthly meetings only. Click here to pay online for a Supporting Membership.
Active Member - $25
This includes a newsletter, monthly meetings, the ability to enter chapter shows, a discounted rate for any workshops we organize, and a page on our website with one image of your artwork, your bio and your contact information (including a link to your website if you have one). This is available to members with Active status and up only. Please note: To apply for Active status your artwork must be juried by a AFCA or SFCA level artist (more info below).

Active Member with Additional Website Exposure - $95
This includes all of the above plus a gallery page displaying eight images of your artwork on our website. This is available to members with Active status and up only.
We request that your images be updated on an annual basis to keep your work and the website up-to-date. To change images throughout the year will be $10/image. To update your images or if you have requested this membership level for the first time, please send the images and information about each painting (title, size, medium) by email with "New Images for my FCA BIo Page" as the subject line. Please send all images at a fairly high resolution to maintain quality.

Note: In order to apply for an Active Membership you must first be a Supporting Member. You may join at the same time as you apply for Active status but you must fill out a New Membership Application form and pay appropriate membership dues. To apply for Active status your artwork must be juried by a AFCA or SFCA level artist. You can speak to a chapter member regarding having your work juried by a local AFCA or SFCA member or click here for more information about how to apply for your Active status.
There are two other membership levels – Associate (AFCA) and Signature (SFCA) Status – which are juried once a year in Vancouver by a meeting of the Board of Governors comprised of SFCA members. Artists at these levels have displayed a consistent high standard of work and have been accepted into eight different juried shows in the past four years. Bring the application with your fee payment to a FCA-COC meeting at the Rotary Centre for the Arts (meetings are at 7:00 pm on the first Monday of the month from September to June, except December, or the 2nd Monday if the first is a public holiday) or mail to:
