Jean Langergraber

Jean Langergraber was born and raised in Manitoba and has a Bachelor of Education with a Fine Arts Major from UBC, which enhances her life-long commitment to drawing and painting. She enjoys working in a variety of media including watercolours, acrylics, pastels, printmaking, soapstone sculpture, and participates in numerous figure drawing classes and workshops.  Jean feels that her most successful work is composed with introspective imagery which is drawn from her unique experiences in life. Jean has gone on many backpacking/hiking adventures and documents these trips with sketches and paintings. Jean is a member of Livessence (society for figurative artists and models) and the Federation of Canadian Artists.  Her paintings have been selected to hang in juried exhibitions in Vancouver, Penticton, and Kelowna.  She has won awards for her ink and charcoal drawings of the figure as well as for memory paintings of her childhood on the prairies.
