FCA-COC Online Sales Gallery – Call for Entries

Dates: Paintings accepted in this call for entries for the Online Sales Gallery will be online from June 13th to August 12th. All artists are expected to link to the Online Sales Gallery page from their social media pages, newsletters and websites to encourage trafficThere will be a new Sales Gallery with new material every 2 months.

Submit:  Please read this entire Call for Entries as this is a different type of show than those the Chapter has held before. By submitting your entries, you are agreeing to all terms and conditions in this call. To Submit, scroll to the bottom of the page and select “Start Submission Process”. Follow instructions. Entry closing dateJune 11th, 2019 at midnight.

Images submitted to the online submission system that are blurry, poorly cropped, display a background/frame, made in error, or are the wrong orientation will be declined without refund. When submitting online, crop your image to exclude visible edges of substrate. The description of your piece should be one or two sentences long, aiming to enhance a viewer’s interest in the artwork.

Entry fee:  $10 flat fee for up to 3 paintings. A 10% commission will be taken by the FCA-COC on all paintings sold during the period they are displayed in the Sales Gallery whether that sale has gone through the Gallery or privately.

Specs:     Any medium, any subject, any size. All paintings entered must be for sale and physically available. Works that have been previously shown at FCA-COC shows are eligible. A painting may not be entered in two consecutive Online Sales Gallery shows.

Copyright: While using photos as reference for painting is a long-held accepted practice, using stock images or photos taken by professional photographers is not permissible, even with their permission. Photographs by professional photographers are considered artworks in and of themselves.

All artists submitting to this show must sign a waiver that declares their artwork is not a copy, derivative or based on the work of others or in any way an infringement of copyright. The FCA-COC reserves the right to reject submitted artwork that appears to be in violation of copyright law.

Rules:  Originals only. Reference material must adhere to copyright law. No workshop paintings.  Artwork cannot be altered after entry has been submitted. Framing must be clean and in good condition. Gallery wrap canvases must have clean, painted edges.

Who:       Open to FCA-COC Active and Signature members only. Active member entries will be lightly juried by two signature members of the chapter to ensure quality. 

Sales ProcessAll paintings must be available and for sale. If a painting is sold through the Online Sales Gallery:

·         The artist will be notified immediately via email

·     Delivery by the artist to the buyer will be arranged by the artist (free delivery in the Central Okanagan (Peachland to Oyama), shipping outside the Central Okanagan at the buyer’s expense)

·      Buyers have 3 days to change their mind and receive a full refund of the purchase price. The buyer will, however, have to cover any return shipping.

·         The FCA-COC will take a 10% commission for facilitating the sale

·         Payment will be made by the buyer via the website and then the amount less the commission will be remitted to the artist by the FCA-COC within 30 days.

The artist must hold the painting during the time it is in the Sales Gallery. If the artist does sell the painting during the time it is in the Sales Gallery, the artist must notify the coordinator immediately to remove the work from the Sales Gallery. The artist will also need to remit the 10% commission to the chapter.
