"PELE" by Jeannine Cradduck

Jeannine Cradduck

Jeannine is primarily a self-taught artist who has supplemented her art education with workshops by well-known and international artists such as: David Langevin, Rick McDiarmid, Nita Leland and Robert Genn. Her passion for art began with drawing at an early age while attending grade school.

While living in Australia during the 1970's and 80's, she studied watercolor techniques in Tasmania with Margaret Brown, who was a student of the distinguished Australian artist Julian Ashton. She was also a member of the famous Flying School of Art based out of the University of Queensland.

When Jeannine returned to Canada in 1989 she attended a portrait course by Barbara Leidl and rekindled her passion for drawing and painting people.

Drawn to artists like Tom Thompson and Vincent Van Gogh, Jeannine is motivated by the tactile and sensual look they achieved in their work. Recently Jeannine's talents have been directed towards the landscape, "painting the landscape challenges and inspires my art" and although a painter in all media her current preference is for oil on canvas. She works in a realist style, leaning towards semi -abstraction.

Several of Jeannine's paintings have been chosen by the Heritage Society of Kelowna to showcase the Brent's Mill project which, along with other selections of her works, have been exhibited at the Kelowna Art Gallery. Jeannine, who is an active member of the Federation of Canadian Artists and the Company Of Artists, has participated in juried and group shows throughout British Columbia and has won several awards for her paintings.

Many of her paintings are in private collections in Canada, the United States and Australia. Jeannine currently works out of her studio in the Village of Kettle Valley in Kelowna B.C.
